Music
I've been writing music and playing in bands for just about as long as I can remember. Pop punk, hard acoustic, rock drama, and most points in between.

Words
I moved to Provence from San Francisco in 2010. Writing became part daily structure, part self-therapy, and laid the foundation for a collection of essays – Postcards from a Runaway – on bewilderment at midlife and my search for the ideal afternoon cocktail. Select essays have been compiled into 3 volumes, covering 2011 - 2013 (Volume 1), 2013 - 2017 (Volume 2), and 2017 - 2024 (Volume 3).

I have also published 2 DIY manuals – on making audacious life leaps (Where Now & How?) and launching deep tech startups (the Deep Tech Playbook) – and wrote the script for the theatrical adaption of Last Night at the Ha-Ra. Click on the book covers to learn more.

I was a General Partner in a Silicon Valley venture capital fund, before pivoting my life to France in 2010 and lecturing at INSEAD on all things startup related. With a background in the hard sciences, I co-created the university’s award-winning Sci-Tech Accelerator program, and today co-lead its popular Deep Tech Venture Creation course.

In 2025, I taught my Deep Tech Playbook to Q, virtual assistant on the AI education platform Qinect brainchild of Adrian Johnson, a great friend and regular collider, (pictured at left), and she’s eager now to guide founders, professors, accelerator directors, investors, and stake holders of all stripe through the fundamentals of a deep tech startup launch. We provide the knowledge, tools, courage, and community to pursue grand ambitions of deep personal meaning.
This is the mission of the Interprize Group, a life leap accelerator I launched in 2010. My novel concept of interpreneurship collides the principles of startup creation with the best practices of personal development to guide interpreneurs who are energized, thinking creatively, and piloting their own futures. (I am a shameless provocateur of audacious life leaps.)
I have given workshops on interpreneurship at universities throughout Europe (the Sorbonne, the Universities of Aix-Marseille and Pisa, ....), to American CPAs for NASBA credits, and to aspiring interpreneurs of all stripe at our base camp in Provence.
